Rapidweaver 8 and ftp issues since Chillidog left

Ok on RW 8 still, since Chillidog left, I’ve left Exact and had a Clook accound for a couple of word press sites.
The problem is that the standard FTP settings I have used for a decade and by adding a new FTP account in the Cpanel dont wotrk anymore.
RW just won’t connect to the server any more, so publishing is impossible.

I think its something to do with the migration process, Clook are very helpful but the issue cant seem to be resolved. Its looking like the only way to publish is by exporting.
I have 3 sites that publish to their own hosting companies , ie big dady and they work fine.
Hence me thinking its to do with the way they are migrated.

I have noticed that if the wrong server name is put in RW hangs and have to be force restarted.
Very stuck at the moment

I had difficulties using the publishing method early on in my RW days and ended up getting an FTP app so that I could export the site and upload it myself. Found this useful to understand the structure of a site and to manually manage things when necessary.

In Elements I have not even attempted to set up the internal publishing, went straight to FTP, FileZilla in my case. When uploading one of three sites to various locations on the host server I just like being able to see where things are going and having a degree of control.
