RapidWeaver Elements 2.2.9 Now Available

Hey Weavers,

We’ve got a nice little build for you just before the weekend. It includes a few subtle, but much-needed improvements, including a new Alt Text field in the Media Inspector and a Canonical URL field, along with a handful of other fixes.

The Alt Text field won’t be useful just yet, as our components still need to be updated to take advantage of it. Oh, and we’ll also be updating the CMS to better integrate with the Canonical URL field, expect those changes in a future update…

What’s New in Elements 2.2.9?

  • Added an Alt text field to the Media Inspector to improve accessibility.
  • Fixed inspector fields dropping values on non-image resources.
  • Added a per-page canonical URL field to help with SEO.
  • Hid the All Components menu to simplify the interface.
  • Retired bundled starter packs on launch to reduce clutter.

Sorry about that, we had a caching issue on the server, try now!

I cant see the canonical setting - sure I’m being daft !

It’s official - I am daft … thank you Steve !!

(and to labour the point… )

…Can somebody give me / show me a concise explanation of how and when this should be used. I’ve read lots of stuRf on that there interweb and it’s clear as mud

You generally don’t need to use this feature for standard Element pages, however if you are using the CMS you’ll want to use this feature… but we’ll have more on that in once we ship CMS 2

Thank you Sir !!
