RapidWeaver Elements 3.1.0 Now Available

Hey Weavers,

RapidWeaver Elements 3.1.0 is now available :tada:

Since the move to macOS Golden Gate, we’ve been busy polishing the interface and refining the experience throughout the app. We’ve also fixed a long list of issues reported on the forum, so thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to share feedback :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Elements is feeling better with every release and is fast becoming the solid, dependable website builder we’ve always wanted it to be!

Let’s jump in and check out what’s new…

What’s New in Elements 3.1

Interface and Editing

  • Refreshed interface. Updated the UI with a more polished glass appearance.
  • Improved Light Mode contrast. Inspector group headers are now easier to read on Golden Gate windows.
  • Clearer sidebar icons. Outline icons now use the label colour for better visibility.
  • Improved editor layout. The page toolbar remains full width, while the lower tab bar stays in place.
  • Bottom-panel control. Moved the bottom-panel toggle into the editor footer.
  • Clearer visibility control. The visibility switch is now easier to see.
  • Simplified pane controls. Flattened the pane tab bar and kept component-editor controls beside their icons.
  • Theme Studio. Fixed a button that was not appearing.

Content Slider

  • New card-row layout. Create freely scrolling rows of cards with a subtle peek at the next card.
  • Improved Edit Mode preview. Card rows now appear horizontally, with responsive slide counts, accurate sizing, and the next-card peek.
  • Smarter autoplay. Autoplay now pauses when you interact with the slider.
  • Navigation options. Navigation arrows can now be placed below the slider.

Video and Audio

  • Video preloading. Added a preload control for self-hosted MP4 videos.
  • Local video playback. Local MP4 videos now play in Gallery lightboxes and Video elements.
  • Skip Video button. Fixed an issue that prevented the Skip Video button from working correctly.
  • Improved audio controls. Fixed audio seeking in Chromium, added a Loop control, and removed the visual gap between the progress fill and thumb.

CMS, Collections, and Security

  • Preserved text colours. The dashboard now keeps inline colour spans when saving a post.
  • Cleaner pasted content. Pasted non-breaking spaces are converted to regular spaces, preventing Google tags from being moved out of the page head.
  • Faster CMS scans. Files that do not need processing are skipped earlier, while body conversion is deferred until rendering.
  • Collection URLs. Author and tag URLs are now populated from page templates.
  • Improved collection paths. Public collection paths have been tightened for better correctness and security.
  • Collection date sorting. Collections now fall back to the date field when the published date is empty.
  • Security fixes. Fixed vulnerabilities affecting server-side templates and search-index paths.

Publishing

  • Better connection diagnostics. Connection tests now show DNS lookup and TCP connection timings.
  • More reliable Amazon S3 settings. Secret keys are saved when editing finishes, and custom endpoints are preserved when the server field is cleared.
  • Upload speed limits. S3 and FTP uploads now share the configured KB/s speed cap.
  • Faster S3 publishing. Uploads now use the bucket’s own region for improved speed and reliability.
  • FTPES naming. Explicit FTPS is now labelled FTPES to match common hosting terminology.

AI and Documentation

  • Updated AI models. The API-key model picker now includes the latest OpenAI and Claude options, including lower-cost models.
  • AI system requirements. Documentation now clarifies that the built-in AI Assistant requires macOS 15 Sequoia, with additional links from the product hub.

What an update!!! :raising_hands: Thanks so much, @dan and the team!

The Card & Content Slider and Video capabilities really stand out for me. This is seriously amazing—Elements is maturing so nicely!

I assume this is probably related to Apple’s design changes in iOS 27.

Unfortunately, the contrast of the Classes field under Advanced is no longer ideal, which makes it a bit difficult to see clearly.

The same issue was already present in the previous version, but I just hadn’t found the time to report it until now.

Just bought an Elements license, and only a few minutes later, there’s already an upgrade with many great and useful features.

Thank you for all the hard work!

Trying to make an app look good in Liquid Glass is like trying to put lipstick on a pig. Your app looks great, I just don’t like what Apple has done to the UI.

It’s not related to the latest OS; I can also confirm that it’s now hard to tell where the field is.
