Hello, following a series of disasters ie : change of computer, major OS update, loss of files, accidental erasure of backup…) … I’ve lost all the RW files of a site built with RW8, including resources, etc…
Is it possible to restore in RW the online site, to be able to update it?
I hate the idea that it is impossible…
Thanks…
Hi @Massilian,
I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but sadly you can’t import a live site into RapidWeaver. You can of course save all the images and other media, and copy paste the texts into a fresh project site.
If you happen to have RapidWeaver’s built-in backup option selected, then you may have a backup of the project file on your server. This option is off by default though.
IF you had the option enabled, you’ll find the backup of the project file on your webserver, tucked away in a folder with random letters and digits for a name, like the example below:
So check if you happen to have one of those, and download the zipped project file from it if you do.
If you don’t have the backup, then I’m afraid you’re going to have to rebuild your site from a fresh project file.
Cheers,
Erwin
Thanks Erwin.
I thought so. I’m not surprised, I’ve already bought a rope and a stool.
