Removing Display Badge in 9.6.3? Good luck

Tonight I bought a new subscription of RWC 9.6.3 to resolve a minor glitch with otherwise rock-solid version 9.3.2.

Opening in 9.6.3, I discovered that on every page of every RW site I own, an uninvited and unremovable Display Badge appears, unremovable because the Display Badge is cleverly greyed out. The Reset button is also greyed out.

Acting on the “Please register Rapidweaver to edit badge settings” does me no good, because when clicking on “Registration” there is no way to link my purchase to my new Licence Key nor my Order Reference number. RW does not recognise my new subscription.

I suppose that until someone at Real Mac hears about this and acts on it, I’ll be forced to go back to 9.3.2.

Lesson learned, tuition paid. I rather doubt I’ll be making that mistake again.

You could always just enter your new license key in RapidWeaver Classic per the below guide:

Thank you, Dan, for your prompt response to my plea for help.

You may wish to consider including deactivation and new-licence activation guidance in messages to purchasers of new licences.

So yes, lesson learned, and now I know how to activate a new subscription.
