My Mac got corrupted and had to be erased. I want to download my site from the server into RW. Is that possible?
Hi @Donnercruz,
Unfortunately not - a published website can not be converted back into a project file.
However, if you had this option set to something other than Never, RapidWeaver will have made a backup of the project file itself on your webserver:
To retrieve it, log onto your server with an FTP client, and look for the directory that’s named a bunch of random letters and digits, followed by “_rwbackup”. You’ll find a zipped version of the project file inside that directory which you can download, and then open in RapidWeaver.
If you can’t see that directory, its likely that the backup feature was indeed set to Never, in which case you’re out of luck.
The best way to move forward in that case, is to rebuild your website, by copying/pasting the contents from the live site to the pages in your project site.
Cheers,
Erwin
