Review my website? What can be better?

Been working on this added tasteful video banner and tasteful pictures.

Going for high end elegance…

Let me know your thoughts on what I can do to make it better… (please)

What’s the purpose of your site? Am I supposed to buy your coffee? Or as a tea drinker not read it much as I’m not into coffee. I thought there might be a link to buy it? The website design is really cool and the colour scheme is great but just at a loss of purpose.

Going to be selling small batch coffee every two weeks a new batch

Still finalizing back end details…

No buy button yet…

(Getting ready  )

Nice. Do you pay tariffs on Brazilian coffee?

Beautiful site! The layout flows well and the images are sized right. Well done!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it…

Sometimes you work in a vacuum and don’t know if it’s ok or not - family will always like what you do…

AH now it makes sense! Good luck!

Yes - taxes too

The goal is achieved, elegant, colors, tile background, fonts, and even the video.

Just one thing: on pages that don’t extend vertically (the archive on desktop) , you should set the footer to the bottom, or just extend the background.

bravò

The text is a little small on my iPad Air 13”. Perhaps try lg size for larger screens …?

Thank you so much! Coming from you that is very very very high praise and I appreciate it a lot.

I don’t know if the size of my tile is messing things up a little bit or not haven’t tried a smaller tile size. It’s 1024 x 1024 pixels.

I did extend the bottom of the page and cover up the white spot on archive. Thank you for pointing that out!

@MichaelDroste this is what it looks like on my desktop same on mobile large space at bottom of screen, if intended ignore

not a secure site, you probably know about that

Very very nice site

I always link up the site title to go to the homepage when clicked - not sure if that’s good practise or not … but I kinda expect the title to ‘take me home’.

It’s classy !!

Have you tried going edge to edge with the video banner - or does that lead to issues with big screens.

I’m not crazy about the italics in the various headers - just me maybe - but it looks ‘hairy’ and not refined on my screen. (it’s not a hi-res screen)

Good work Sir !!

Feel like I really want to get lost in that movie header

Hi,

Nice job. Personally, I’d suggest:

  1. The text styling on the image (About page) could match that on your home page. This should also improve the contrast/legibility of this text (you might need to make the image darker).
  2. I’d also choose to show the text block on the About page over two columns, which should make it an easier read for customers.
  3. As noted in a post above, I’d agree that some of the text is a bit small.

Thank you will fix…

Changed the background tile to 256x256px
(Was 1024x1024 and causing issues)

CMS pages have a bug with background tile - won’t cover the whole screen - white space on bottom @ben - archive page and post page on my site

Will edit more and fix suggestions - thank you!

When things are done well, it’s fair to say.

Unfortunately, one of the most important elements for creating a website is usually not available in programs. It’s called ‘taste’ ( in your case with miminal items) , and it’s a priceless feature and even more difficult to achieve in modular software.

Hi Michael,

The site is nice and clean. The simplicity means folks won’t get lost in an endless search.

My only question is about the approach. One time only coffee seems like a discouragement to buy. Personally, if I like a coffee I’d want to be able to get it again. Not being able to do so would keep me from even trying it. Just my two cents.

Trying a new approach to gourmet coffee….

Just like everything has a start and an end, in the world of specialty coffee, that cycle is just part of life. Even though we often want the same cup every morning, this new way of releasing coffee every two weeks acknowledges that the best beans are seasonal and don’t last forever.

There’s a wealth of beans to discover from around the world - and all can be roasted differently!

The thing is, once you discover a truly amazing roaster, you usually stick with them, no matter what the rotation is. You’re not just getting a flavor; you’re getting their taste and their skill.

This model makes the brand itself the constant, giving us a fresh start every two weeks.

I tried to make the video banner full screen… It shows that way in Elements…
I think - don’t know - that putting the whole page into a container to do the background tile
has messed it up
