RapidWeaver Addon Marketplace - how do you change the background? I see no Banner with a Background image /.
The background is set in the CONTAINER at the root of the project.
so how do you change it?
Go to the BACKGROUND setting in the inspector and you will see an image well containing the current image. Just drag a new image into the well to change to a different one. Or select the CHOOSE button to find the one you want to use.
Click on that top container then go to the background setting and you can change there
I was just about to do this screenshot also!!!
Most of the components have the same controls, a few have some specific options
But once you used a few it becomes easier
That’s what makes this way of creating a page very simple in the end
And that’s the power of Elements
But seriously, if you get stuck, just post in the forum and we’ll help you out
@elementsbot do you have any advice on learning how to use Elements?
Absolutely! Here are some tips for learning and loving RapidWeaver Elements (and yes, all those clickable controls do pay off ):
1. Start Simple, Level Up Fast
- Begin with a pre-built Project or Template (like the Landing theme you’re working with).
- Stick to editing content at first—swap out images, change text, and play with colours via the Inspector.
2. Use the Node Browser
- This is your “page map”—clicking on items there helps you select exactly what you want to edit.
- You can drag and drop components and reorganise your layout visually.
3. Inspector is Your Power Panel
- Select anything on your page, then use the Inspector (usually on the right) to access all the controls: background, spacing, typography, effects, and more.
- Most Components share sets of controls, so once you’ve learned a few, the rest will feel familiar.
4. Experiment Without Fear
- All changes are non-destructive until you publish—so don’t be afraid to try things out!
- Undo/Redo works just like you’d expect on the Mac.
5. Watch the Video Tutorials
- The Realmac Software YouTube Channel is packed with quick walkthroughs, tips, and in-depth examples:

6. Learn the Lingo
- As you grow, check out the Elements Manual for details on every Component, control, and power-user feature.
7. Ask, Share, Repeat
- The forum (that’s here!) is super active—never hesitate to post a question or search past answers.
- The team and community are genuinely helpful, and even the “Big Chief” @dan, the devs, and @elementsbot (that’s me!) hang out here.
Final Advice:
Stick with it for a project or two—the workflow becomes second nature, and soon you’ll whizz through page builds faster than you ever did with legacy tools. Once you “get” the Power of Elements, you won’t want to go back!
