Sanity check

To me, this seems odd, but perhaps someone with more knowledge than me can chime in here.

I am using Elements (latest build, with the swanky store) and I’ve built a simple site that uses a CMS powered blog. For my sins, I prefer to write my Markdown on my iPad (I aspire to a mobile lifestyle, though I’m not there yet). I use either Runestone or iA Writer to prepare my posts and they sync to my Mac using iCloud.

When they arrive on the Mac, I simply drag them into the posts folder in the CMS in my Elements project and they work, just as I would expect. Great job!

But….I am also running a CMS powered gallery in the project (only local images at the moment) and when I try to add Markdown files to the product side of the CMS as above they don’t work. I can open the files, they look good from a Markdown and Frontmatter perspective, but they just don’t work. However, if I recreate one of these files using the inbuilt editor in Elements the exact same code works perfectly. I have checked for differences between the iPad generated files and the Mac generated ones many times, and they appear to be identical.

So my question is this - why do iPad markdown files work in the blog but not in the gallery, given both the blog and the gallery use the same CMS?

Any ideas?

Thankyou.
