I’m having issues, I’ve checked the server: PHP version: 8.4.19.
Whatever setting I’ve tried, my test sends the error message I’ve set. As a simple two way email enquiry/response, I don’t think a webhook should be required? I’ve tried using a new fastmail email account also, the test enquiry still not getting through..
Can you post a link to your Contact page on your website, along with a screenshot of your Form settings (with the password redacted), so we can take a look?
Looks like you are trying both GoDaddy email and Fastmail. I’d probably try to go with Fastmail as GoDaddy is terrible.
For Fastmail you have to create an app-specific password to enter into the form settings >> Password field. We have a guide here on how to do that Using Fastmail | RapidWeaver Elements Docs
Give that a go and let us know how you get on.
Also, it’s showing you are using PHP 8.3 on your website, not 8.4, so you might also try updating the PHP version to 8.4 as well.
Thanks, yes GoDaddy rubbish, I didn’t set this up so maybe I can get the plan cancelled and swap to your hosting? I had my own website with Chilli for many years, now taking over so maybe I could bring both to elements?
Still not working with fastmail - I followed the instructions with elements, putting in the password. How do I upgrade the PHP?
If you are currently hosting on GoDaddy, their guide on how to update your PHP version is here.
The form is still timing out with that same error so either the SMTP details aren’t correct in the form, or GoDaddy is blocking something.
If you can give me some FTP login details to your website on GoDaddy I could check the logs to see the specific error that is getting thrown. Feel free to DM me in private if you want to provide those.
If that RW Elements component depends on PHP 8.4 server-side processing, there isn’t a GoDaddy cPanel setting that will make it work while 8.3 is the highest version on the server.
The next best move is to check the RW Elements form component settings for an alternate submit method, like SMTP, API, or external form handling. Can you open that component’s form settings and tell me what send options it shows?
Use webhook. That’s the best path here, because it can bypass the server-side PHP mail handler that likely needs 8.4.
The next step is to connect that webhook to a form service or automation endpoint that can email you the submissions. Do you already have a webhook destination set up?
The Chatbot is not really providing useful information there, it’s hallucinating made up answers.
Feel free to reach out to me via Direct Message (DM) here on the forum if you want me to further check into this configuration issue on your GoDaddy hosting account, however please note we recommend moving over to Elements Hosting to avoid GoDaddy altogether..
So I got your GoDaddy email working. Your Fastmail credentials don’t seem to be correct because the ones you had are not working for me. Also your email DNS isn’t pointed to Fastmail, it’s still pointed to GoDaddy. Not sure if you are wanting to change over to Fastmail or stay with GoDaddy email, but if you want to go with Fastmail you’ll need to update your DNS records to point to Fastmail…
Anyway you should be able to enter your GoDaddy email details in the Contact Form for your caroline@carolinedalemusic.co.uk email address and the form should submit.
Below are the settings. Update those, republish your site, and then test the form. Let me know how it goes.
The form worked so sorry to waste your time on this - I can ditch GoDaddy within 30 days if it’s an annual, as long as whatever the wording means - “isn’t performed” Ominous..
No worries, you are not wasting our time, we love helping our customers!
Yeah for sure, if you can ditch GoDaddy (which I like to call NoDaddy), we’d love to host you here at Elements Hosting. I can personally guarantee the support you’ll receive here is light years ahead of what you will get “over there”.
If there’s anything else we can help with please let us know.
