Im running rw 8.2 on mac os 13.6.5 … IN rw, everything looks and behaves as expected…and did so while at the orginal two hosts , they sold to another company and now the site does not look OR act as it did ( or how it still looks and acts in RW for that matter ) I used the collage plug in / add on a lot to build the site. Can anyone take a look and share some thoughts ( I actaully built this site for a close family friend , as a favor im lost as to where to resolve the issue ) THANK YOU www.tuxedoswithstyle.com.
IF moving to elements hosting is the fix, solution OR will get me the help & guidance I need, Im there…
We’d love to host you, however the Collage plugin is ancient and hasn’t been updated in many many years. I don’t even think we have anybody hosting with us that uses that plugin, so I have no idea how it would work on our hosting. We could always test it though… ![]()
Anyway, the browser console is showing some javascript and CSS can’t be found, along with some other javascript error, which is probably why your page is not working properly. Maybe you need to re-publish all files to make sure all of the files are uploaded to your web hosting account. Perhaps when the new host migrated your website, not everything got migrated over correctly..
Also, maybe your new host is using a PHP version that Collage plugin is not compatible with…
Also, the last version of RapidWeaver 8 that we released was 8.9.4. You should really update to that version if you are going to continue using RapidWeaver 8.
Thank you for your quick reply & advice ! I will update the app and see if that gives me an improvement…or more issues ( gulp ). The idea of completely redoing the site is a bit daunting at this point. I would like to take you up up on the testing on your server, I was using Chillidog because they were RW friendly and located on the east coast ( usa ) as am i it worked well for her ( tuxedo lady ) for several years. Is there a plug in that is similar to Collage ?
Ideally Elements would be the way to go, however you’d need to update your macOS version to 13.7.8 (you mentioned you are on 13.6.5 now). It’s still macOS Ventura, just the last version of Ventura that Apple released…
Sure thing! You can use the coupon code firstmonthfree when signing up from our website here https://elementshosting.io/, that way we can test things out first to see how it goes.
Yeah, but I don’t really like recommending any Stacks based products, I don’t have confidence in its long-term viability. I try to avoid recommending people spend money on things I don’t have confidence in…
Someone else can recommend some old third-party photo galleries though if they want to. ![]()
