Sitemap and .MD files

Although you’re submitting .md files into the sitemap … Google isn’t seeing them at all : (

(… as far as I can see)

Why don’t we submit the blog page itself into the Sitemap.

ie : instead of submitting …

https://www.peteryates.co.uk/cms/posts/coalface-25-exhibition.md

we should be submitting …

I already mentioned this topic before and pointed out that this is not an optimal solution.

It is admittedly a bit cumbersome and involves more manual work each time, but you’ll need to manually remove the checkmark for “Include in sitemap” in your .md files.

BTW: It’s also known that the blog URLs are currently not being indexed by Google. This is because the CMS sets the same canonical URL for all blog posts, so every post points to the canonical URL of the main page.

I’ve already raised this issue before. Due to the many things that still need to be addressed, the CMS is likely still in beta and not yet fully functional.

WDIK but It seems like this wouldn’t be such a tough fix !?

My workaround is to make a sitemap externally at xml-sitemaps.com

( … and make an image sitemap too)

Can you help me … where do I find the toggle to include / exclude the MD files from the sitemap ?

I cant find it : )

Basically, .md files, robots.txt, and similar files do not belong in a sitemap. Google or other search engines cannot process them properly anyway.

Therefore, it makes sense to prevent them from being included in the sitemap in the first place.
