Small backdrop filter blur issue in Menu

Hi Team,

Hopefully this has not already been addressed.

On the menu component, when I use the effects, backdrop filter of 5px is shows in the editor. When you preview the page in the browser you don’t get the same result. if you put 50px it does not make any difference when previewing.

I’m wondering if it’s something to do with the fact it’s a global and has responsive values attached to it. Can you share that project so we can take a look more closely?

sure thing

Hi Dan, FYI, in response to your suggestion above about possible global issue I thought it wise to create a new project with a new menu component. I get the same result.

I submitted that to elements cloud. elementsapp://downloadDocument/fipTY9kcxVee

called “test menu blur”.

Thanks much,
Ken

All of my menus where I have done the same thing are showing the blurring with no problem.

Thank you Robin for that info. Based on that I tried this on a newer Mac. It works! it must be my older iMac. The newer MacBook Pro works fine.

So this is not an elements issue, just a retiree using an older computer that still runs great and that 5K screen is to die for. I don’t want to get rid of it.

BTW that Mac is running. MAC OS 13.7.5 maybe that has something to do with it.

Thanks much
Ken

I think the issue might be browser support for the backdrop-blur CSS filter — do you know the version of Safari you’re using where it’s not working as expected?

Hi Ben,

I’m using Safari Version 18.4 (18621.1.15.111.1, 18621) on an iMac running MAC OS Ventura 13.7.5

Thanks
Ken
