Not a big deal but when I select an image from a resource folder and go to enter a caption the caption field is already filled with spaces. Without noticing it my caption ended up as
" The Caption" rather than “The Caption”
I can’t reproduce that issue here, I’m wondering if Elements is getting that from the file metadata.
Can you share a project with a couple of these sample images in that display the issue?

As suspected, those spaces are in your original file (i.e. this is not an Elements bug):
You’ll need to remove them in whatever photo app they are stored in/exported from.

Argh. My photo program (On1 Max) added the spaces. Thanks, I should have checked that first. I didn’t realise Elements took the metadata
