Speed bumps I run into

I have been using the beta of Elements for awhile now and I have some small issues that I run up against everytime I start a new project. The first one is the implementation of how text is handled. I really wish you would incorporate a header component in Elements. I find it cumbersome to drag a text component full of filler text when all I want is one to four words for a header. I know I can use a global for this, but with the header component the only action I would need to do is set up in the theme studio for the font type and what styling I prefe, then set which type of header it is after draging it on the page and changing the what the text is. Then set the heading level, h1, h2 etc.

Speaking of the theme studio, its my opinion that creating your own theme should be priority number one for the general release of Elements. It would make using the app so much better if I could set up pre-defined themes of my own design so that when I start a new project I can select which style I want. I am all for the CMS that you are building, but I consider that icing on the cake, not the cake itself. Focus on the basics of the app before the really cool stuff.

I really am impressed with Elements on the whole and how easy it is to build great websites. I just find the above niggles seem to slow me down.

Thanks,
Steve J.

Good news! This will be implemented with the upcoming Templates feature. It’s going to do just what you need.

Ah yes! We were holding off until we were sure the Theme Studio was pretty much set feature-wise. We’re just in the process of adding Background page colour, then we’ll look at adding Theme creation in the UI. Stay tuned.

Really pleased to hear you’re enjoying Elements, and don’t worry we’ll get these little niggles fixed up for you
