Something like that. I’ve noticed that elements have a lot or very high memory consumption. On my Mac, the message that the memory consumption is very high always appears. I checked it, it takes almost 5 GB of memory, is that normal?
I would say this is normal.
It was already like this in RW Classic, and it is the same in Elements.
In general, this happens as your project gets larger. The more files you have — Markdown files, images, and so on — the more memory is used. This is because all those files and images need to be cached for faster processing.
Whether there is still room for optimization, I can’t really say.
But 5 GB is still quite relaxed. In my largest project, I’m at around 25 to 30 GB of memory usage.
So my recommendation would be to completely close and restart Elements once a week, or even more often if needed.
