We’re exploring the development of a polished “Submittal Packet Builder” for a national construction materials manufacturer website built in RapidWeaver Elements.
The goal is to allow users to:
-
Select a waterproofing/coating system or individual products
-
Automatically suggest related documents (TDS, SDS, ICC reports, warranties, details, install guides, etc.)
-
Generate a single combined PDF submittal package
-
Download and/or email the packet to engineers, contractors, architects, owners, etc.
We are NOT looking for a basic form solution or ZIP download tool. The experience needs to feel professional, modern, and integrated into the existing website.
Ideal workflow:
-
User selects a system/product
-
Related documents are auto-populated
-
User optionally enters project/company information
-
System generates a branded combined PDF packet with cover page/table of contents
-
User downloads or emails the packet
Current thoughts:
-
PDFs would remain hosted on our server
-
A backend service/API (possibly PDF.co or similar) would dynamically merge selected PDFs
-
Looking for a clean UI/UX that can either live directly inside RW Elements or integrate cleanly with it
Main questions:
-
Has anyone built something similar in RW Elements?
-
Is there an existing workflow, stack, or integration approach you’d recommend?
-
Would this best be handled with custom JS/API work, a standalone app embedded into RW, or another method?
-
Any developers here interested in discussing the project?
Would love to see examples or hear how others would architect something like this.
