I was just contacted by a business that would like a website that would be able to handle subscriptions and people purchasing online. This is something I haven’t built before, what could I integrate into Elements to make this work? Just looking for some Ideas.

Cartloom does this subscriptions, buying, vouchers etc. I have a trial site just waiting contact form fix. Have a look here - don’t buy anything as it will charge you! 
Aslo dont touch top buy button on menu bar as you’ll get a 404 message but look at buy buttons under products. Any questions please ask.
Look into Vibralogix and Sitelok
Sitelok lets you lock off password protect sections for subscribers…
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m taking a look at Stripe as well, they have a nice a subscription feature.
I use Xero for my accounting. Stripe/Paypal through Cartloom for all my payment methods.
