Full browser height, I’m not exactly sure I understand what that means. Could I have an example of some sort
Always glad to help!
Hey, Nick,
Enjoying SuperFlex. One of the ways I’m using it is for a slideshow of quotes. The quotes are embedded in Text Stacks, each of which is within its own slide.
My problem is that depending up on the width of the browser, the quotes have a varying number of lines, and thus SuperFlex (gracefully) adjusts its height depending upon which quote shows up.
Since my quotes are near the top of the page, this creates an annoying constant up and down shift of the content below the quotes.
Can you think of a way I can get the quotes to stay at a constant height? Either have a way for SuperFlex to size its container to the maximum height of all its content (my preferred way), or kludge it, perhaps by having SuperFlex sit on top of another container with the longest quote in it (in transparent font). I’m not finding the solution.
Thanks!
Henry
A link to your site showing the issue would probably be very helpful/beneficial.
Good idea! www.MariaFlurry.com
I should mention that my test case is Safari 10.0.1 - I’ve not yet tested it on other browsers.
Hi Henry,
I took a look for myself, and your site link doesn’t appear to have the shifting you mentioned - or at least I couldn’t see it. SuperFlex is supposed adjust height accordingly to expand and contract with each slides content, but when not in view, should lock the slideshow height to prevent page shifting.
What would help… Send me a single page project file of the shifting happening, and I’ll test it out. Send to support@nickcatesedesign.com thanks.
This would be a real benefit.
Thanks, Nick,
I did verify that the behavior is exactly as you state - when SuperFlex is out of view, it does not alter its size.
Can you think of anyway I can have a responsive mechanism for preventing SuperFlex from ever altering its height? Something like setting its height to the maximum height of its children?
I’ll send you a project.
Thanks!
Henry
Setting fixed height for a text container is not recommended, as the height can change a lot when viewed on mobile devices.
Agreed - I was imagining something where SuperFlex determines the max height in its responsiveness and adjust accordingly. Don’t know if that might be possible.
Thanks!
