SVG as Background – Is It Supported?

Hi all,
Quick question: is it possible to use an .svg file as a background image in Elements?
Just wondering if this is supported or if it’s blocked by the web engine for any reason (e.g. performance, compatibility, or rendering issues).
Would love to know what’s technically allowed or recommended here—SVGs can be a great option for lightweight, scalable visuals.
Thanks!
Mark

The Container and Background Components do not support SVG. However, I’ve discussed this with @ben, and we believe adding this feature to the Background Component would be beneficial. Keep an eye out for this in a future update.

Currently, there are methods to place an SVG in the background, though they require some creativity with component layouts or the creation of a custom component…

If it’s a flat graphic then PNG’s are very small file size wise, so it might work as a stop-gap for you.

Just a quick update on this one: I’ve added SVG support to the Background component — this update will be included in the next beta

Thanks so much, Ben and Dan, for listening and acting on this so quickly! :folded_hands:
Really appreciate the addition of SVG support in the next beta—this will be super useful for many of us.
I also want to say that this kind of feedback loop is the best approach for Elements development. I’ve never seen anything like it in any other beta program I’ve been involved in. Amazing work. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
