Taking a website from test domain to live

I’ve moved a website from a test subdomain to my main domain. In doing so, I’ve discovered some issues.

  • The URL in the page settings doesn’t get updated:

    I have altered the URL in the Project settings. Have I missed something? How do I change them? They are greyed out!

  • I set up CMS. I’ve discovered that the link to images is all absolute rather than relative, so they all stayed pointed to the test subdomain. I’ve updated all the correct links in the CMS editor page. I had to go through and relink all the images (a bit of a pain as it’s a photography website with lots of photos). All the text, tags, etc., moved across okay. I don’t know if there is something I missed?

These are minor annoyances. I’m really pleased with my website. And I am very impressed with Elements and - after a little time learning the new ropes - I can see how much better it is than Classic. The team have done a great job. :raising_hands:

When updating the URL in the Settings >> General >> Web Address field, you will need to save the project file in order for the URL to get updated across all the pages in the page inspector’s URL field.

OK - thank you. I rebuplished it, and that seems to have done the trick for the URL links.

In relation to the CMS photos URLs - does this update those as well? (I’d already done all mine one by one - but wanted to know for next time.)
