Is it possible to add text to a pictures in the gallery when viewed in the Lightbox?
Not currently, but you could build your own gallery using the grid and modals, that way you could show whatever you wanted. The only downside is you want have the next/previous arrows if you go that route…

I didn’t. I looked into modals like Dan suggested but the problem is going from inside a modal to inside the next one. I looked at the videos about modals but the suggestion you get is from somewhere on the page you link to a modal on the page. There is no mention of linking from inside a modal to inside a modal. I searched the internet but could not find a solution/script to help unfortunately.

I am sure someone will build a gallery and put it on the marketplace. Could take a while because I believe not everything under the hood of Elements is set in stone yet.
