Text wrap component

RapidWeaver Elements 3.0.4 (24394)

I am new to Elements, so if this is known, I am unaware. I was interested in placing text around an image. I had done this many versions ago with Rapidweaver and I am trying to update my site with Elements. A search for how to do this is answered with the ‘text wrap component’. My version 2.4 did not have a text wrap component, but the v3.0 beta has it. Okay, I may have become an unexpected beta tester.

I am trying to control the size of the text and image. Granted, I don’t know what I am doing and part of it might be this is a beta test report. Okay, I can change the percent width (of something?) and I can click on the button with highlight blue. If I change to a different browser, I can see the effect. This is what I wished happened. If I want to change the tablet width only, I need to click the button. If not, I change the width for all browsers. This does not work this way, so this may be a bug.

I think that is the only control I have over an image.

I’m trying to figure out how the sizing works. Auto, px, 0-96, and a mask/paint brush. When I clicked the mask, it changed the appearance of everything, a bug. Save, quit, restart app, it’s back to normal. Is this incomplete or what am I setting, percent? Doesn’t seem it. pixels, really, 96 pixels width? Can’t be. I presume this is just incomplete.

Hi @pwepplo

Welcome back to the forums, hope you’re enjoying Elements

I recorded a quick video to answer your questions and show how the Text Wrap component works. In the video I mentioned the Responsive Design video tutorial.

Hopefully I’ve answered all your questions in the video, but do let me know if you need any more help

Wow, ten years ago, you found me. Thank you for the video reply. I have been using the beta version and no crashes, so far, so good. By using it and Google searches, I may have succeeded in find the answers anyway.

Let me say, you guys have developed an amazing product. Clearly your user base probably understands the jargon and can anticipate the controls better than I. I have watched many of the feature videos at this point, so I am improving. I am still spending a lot of time on the layout, size, etc.

Now that you have shown the number refers to theme width, I’d like to see the ‘enable’ slider changed to ‘theme’ and ‘pixel’ width buttons. Then options become evident for a new user like me. Theme could be the current choices and pixel could be pixels or percent.
