Trouble with gallery photos

I’ve imported my Classic website (created some 15 years ago) fairly succesfully. However because most of my photos didn’t come across, I’m trying to add them to a new gallery. These are photos that worked perfectly in Classic, but when I put them in a gallery now, they don’t fit properly. Is there a way to adjust the gallery size photos?

Also, in my Classic site I was able to do Before/After photos with a “slider” moving betweeen the 2 photos. Is this still possible?

Is there a tutorial that I’ve missed on photos and galleries?

I’ve uploaded my site to Realmac but not sure how to make it visible to all you helpful people

I don’t know why I can’t edit my original post so having to put the link here in a reply:

Hello - :waving_hand: - not finding it crashing… how many photos are you working with?

Here’s my usage of gallery and works well… small 3 across on mobile

Then you click on a photo and it brings it up…

Your before after idea is a good one… I’m sure someone will program something like that….

You might ask chat gpt if that can be programmed…

Yes, you will need to change the way you work.

Personally I get everything on the page in desktop then go to the mobile view and set up all the spacings etc and then override settings as I go up in screen size at the different breakpoints. As fas as galleries go I might have three or four of them on a page but only one visible at each screen size so I can customise it better.

I found this out the hard way the same as you but it soon becomes second nature and the customisation between different breakpoints is I think a powerful feature of Elements. My sites look completely different on a mobile to how they look on desktop.

You’ll get there.

I hear you! I just noticed the same thing after rebuilding several websites on a local server, the small screens are completely ugly! I am going to wait and pass judgement on this tool, but more than likely i am going with Blocs or Wordpress as this one is definitely not ready for production. They put all the designers out of business that were helping them make RapidWeaver a decent tool, without having all the features and robustness of the old tool…

I have this ready, even used it with cms, of no use, the slider handle bar is configurable, will streamline

Opened your site - nice work! very good - Might bring the text down 1 level in size

Fixed Most of it Added 30+ containers

ENJOY!

You just have to wrap - just about everything in a container - then it’s much better!

Hope this helps!

I didn’t see a photos folder…

Like this:

Elements ‘makes’ a folder for you…

In gallery - you drag an entire folder of pictures into the blank area

If want further help - happy to do it

If you have an icon I can add that to your site also…

Here is wood and chisel

Let me redo your site with this… will send a new link…

added icons, fixed front page, added animation

Hi Michael, Thanks again for the help. I’ll try reloading my pictures into resources. The big problem I’m having which I didn’t explain clearly enough, is that the pictures I have show a chair, for instance, in full size, that is not cutting off the top and bottom. When I bring them in to elements, the top and bottom of the pictures are cut off as you see them in my current site. They were optimized for Classic some 15 years ago and worked perfectly, but now don’t. I don’t see anyway to enlarge the box to show more of the picture, if that is the problem? Make sense? I did go and lower the font size last night, just didn’t upload that version. I have a svg but I need to find it…Cheers,

Kit

As I look at the photos in my Element’s resources, they are the correct size (not cut off) but when I bring them into a gallery they get cut off.

Watching Bears :bear: game…

Let me edit and organize your resources and try your gallery from scratch….

Going to do this now…. Give me a ½ hour or so…

Want me to change the text size? Normal is base or XL?

People set their own text sizes in their browser settings…

I uploaded a newer version. Work off that one. There is also a logo. It’s in png.

Thanks,

Kit
