Two canonical tags in one of my websites head

Hello:

I’m having trouble with canonical tags. On a main page of a website I’m getting two canonical tags. The first one is controlled by the canonical url in the meta tags section and located just before the keywords meta name in the head. The second one, which I can’t seem to modify is located after the og metatags in the head. How do I fix this? Maybe a bug?

BTW, I don’t have any canonical tags set in the head template.

Hello! Does anyone have any idea what is going on here and what can be done about it? Conflicting canonical tags are not a good thing.

screenshots!? website… something else?

When asking for help, it’s always best to provide as much information as possible.

This could be a link to the website, screenshots, or, if you are comfortable with it, sharing the project.

There can be many different reasons why something is not working or why an error occurs. Without more details, everything is just guesswork.

I tried to embed screenshot but it won’t allow me to do that. Not sure why, so here is a link to the webpage: https://creation-science.sk.ca/

If you look at the source, you will see two canonical tags as described above.

Is it possible that you made changes under Project Settings → Template?

At first glance, that would be the only thing I can think of that might be causing this. In that case, you should try resetting everything by clicking “Revert to Default” and then republish your entire project.

BTW:
@dan or @differentdan , could you assign the user to a different level so they are able to post screenshots? Thanks!

Ok, I have now tried that but it made no difference.

The only things I can think if is it’s a left over from a previous version of RW and subsequent versions are not cleaning it up?? None of the other websites I look after have this issue.

I figured it out. I had an extra tag set up Page Settings → Edit Extra Code? I must have done this prior to the canonical tag being added to the Page Settings page.

Done!
