I am a very infrequent user of Rapidweaver and it has been a couple years since I made an update to my site. I recently made some changes and tried to upload them to knownhost and could not get FTP to work. I used the settings the techs at knownhost suggested, but I always get an error saying timeout was reached and it couldn’t connect with my FTP server. One of the settings that the tech mentioned was setting to port 21, but I don’t see an option for that. He suggested I use a FTP client like Firezilla, but I have no clue how to do that. If anyone here has some suggestions I would be willing to try. Last time I updated it was really no problem but not now.
Hi @mfoster.vt,
It looks like Knownhost support SFTP per their guide here.
You might try switching over to SFTP in RW’s publishing settings as SFTP is a more stable publishing option. You should be able to get your SFTP username and password from Knownhost support if you don’t know it off the top of your head. You can then enter those details in RapidWeaver’s publishing settings and try publishing the site then.
Let us know how you get on.
