Unexpected Menu section behaviour

When using the pre-made “Menu” section, some strange results:

  • the “Desktop Logo” controls seem to overpower any of the Mobile Logo controls (is that intentional?)

  • Despite adding a logo to the Mobile Logo via Resources, it will not show.

  • Mobile Logo will only show when a logo is added to Desktop Logo AND Logo is selected withing the Type toggle. (Again, Desktop Logo seems to overpower the Mobile Menu options).

Additional tiny request: Please create a “center logo on Mobile” option

Thanks!

MT

Hey Mike!

The Mobile Logo settings are for the logo in the Mobile Menu. The Mobile Menu is not shown in the Elements editor until you toggle a property setting (we know we need to improve on this workflow).

Anyway, I can see how the naming of the controls and the design of the component could be confusing - we will look at improving that in an upcoming beta!

Hope this explains things a little better, let me know if you have any more questions

Hi @ben

Thanks for the reply!

That was exactly as I understood the functionality…but I was definitely stuck in some kind of weird behaviour, but after restarting it seems sorted and acting as expected.

Initially, I thought it may have been because I had made it a Global…OR that I was assigning a different resource (vs. same resource used for my site logo in settings).

I’ll let you know if anything acts up again!

Now how about that “center logo on mobile” ?

Thanks,

M

After more troubleshooting, I’ve discovered that despite the option to link to a different resource, it seems like the logo option can only display the default site logo loaded into settings.

Will that change? (I typically like to use a full logo on desktop and just a wordmark on the top of the mobile menu).

Thx

I think you can already do this… try switching both logos to custom and use an image. Check out the video to see how to do it…

Thanks Dan! It was selecting “custom” to create the space to drop the image component. (Hears a voice saying “go watch all the videos!” LOL)

I think the option to link to a resource for both mobile and desktop menu can be a bit misleading.

Also, as someone had mentioned in another thread, the custom sizing is a bit buggy. When I just highlighted and changed the numbers for width and height, the result was unchaged (full size of the image), whereas if I highlighted the values, deleted them, and then put new values, it worked well!

This was helpful.

When trying this approach, I ran into a problem. I had placed an SVG in the drop zone at the right edge of the menu. While that SVG was present, it would not allow me to drop an image in the logo drop zone. I first had to delete the SVG, and then I could drop the image just fine.
