When I publish a video and watch it in an iPhone or an iPad, I have to click unmute to start the sound. Well, how do I change the word into a different language? I have come to the conclusion that not everyone understands what unmute means.
As far as I know, this is standard behaviour on iOS. Videos with sound cannot autoplay automatically, so iPhone and iPad require the user to tap an “Unmute” button first. Videos can autoplay without interaction only when muted or without an audio track.

Wild guess here, but if you are French for example and your computer is set up for the French language, as you would expect, does the word ‘Unmute’ show as Unmute or as ‘Activer le son’ or whatever the actual wording is?
I don’t know but I would have thought it automatically translates to the viewers language. If this is not standard behaviour and YouTube etc shows the word Unmute regardless of language then you have to think everybody must know what it means. With 100’s of languages you could never hope to cover them all.

I have also published videos using Tumult’s Hype and those videos do not have this problem.
The problem with videos published through Elements, only occur on iPhone and iPad, not on computers. Also, the problem does not occur on Samsung phones.

Have you tried setting the iste language to Swedish in Elements?
I’ve looked into this further… The “Unmute” button is provided by Vimeo, not Elements, and Vimeo uses the viewer’s browser/device language rather than the Elements project language. However…
I’ve found a small issue in how we pass the muted setting to Vimeo, which we’ll get corrected as I think this is causing the issue.
In the meantime if it’s critical you could use a custom component and paste in the code snippet Vimeo supplies for the embedded player.
We’ll get this fixed in a future update very soon!
