Update Error!

Problems updating see pix attached

Hi @Flash

The error displayed indicates you need to move the app to your Applications folder.
Usually people see that error when they leave the app in their Downloads folder (or custom downloads folder) and try to run it from there.

It was in the Applications folder. Looks like it used to be called “Rapidweaver Elements.” Changed the name to the new name “Elements” and it updates fine. I actually had both in my system.

It is still called RapidWeaver Elements on my system but I note that if I download the latest version of Elements it is showing as Elements.App? :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I have both RapidWeaver Elements.app and Elements.App in my Applications folder.

I normally launch RapidWeaver Elements.app.

What is the “official” way to sort this out, so as not to cause any damage?

Elements.app is the way!

So can I just delete RapidWeaver Elements? Will all my settings move across to the Elements App? When did this change happen?

Yes, they are the same, it’s just the app name that is different.
You can go ahead and delete the old version, all your setting will remain

I have deleted RapidWeaver Elements.app and now using Elements.app.

I have rebooted my Mac and when I start Elements.app I am still seeing RapidWeaver in the about panel:

I note that in an earlier post by @Flash that his panel was showing just Elements (though that does seem to be beta 23?).

The dock seems OK:

So is there something else I need to update to correct this?

Mine also shows RapidWeaver Elements in the About window, so maybe that hasn’t been updated yet.

Officially the app is called “RapidWeaver Elements” but we like to call it just “Elements”.
