Clicking on “Check for Updates” and get error message “UPDATE ERROR! Elements can’t be updated if its running from the location it was downloaded to”
Sorry, but dont understand the meaning of this.

Maybe the app is still in your Downloads folder? If so, move it to the Apps (Programme, if you’re german) folder, where it belongs anyway. Maybe that could be the reason for your issue…

Yes, @RapidBase is correct! Move Elements over to the “Applications” folder and it should update just fine.
If you are still having issues, you can always download the latest build from here.
