Using SFTP in Elements

Not sure if there’s a process to raise an issue or I just create a post on here?

In Classic, I use SFTP to publish my sites and append a port number to the server which works fine.

E.g. my.server.com:1234

I’m trying to do the same using Elements and it hangs on the Testing… pop-up and eventually returns the error: Couldn’t sign in to your FTP server.

I’ve checked the SFTP details using my FTP client and all is good.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

John

Sorry, we have some work to do on Publishing in Elements , for now you could switch back to FTP if your host supports it, or export to the desktop then upload with another client, like CyberDuck or Transmit.

We’re going to take a look at publishing in Elements very soon and get it fixed up!

any updates on SFTP publishing? I can use FTP to publish, but would prefer to use SFTP, and would also prefer to use elements and bypass cyberduck. I just like it all to be in one application.

Hi @trefts

SFTP publishing is working fine now in Elements, you can go ahead and switch over to it in your publishing settings.
