Want to recreate website in Elements

I’m looking to recreate my company website in Elements (originally done in RW with Foundry). The URL of the site: https://gfcreativeinc.com

Focus on the home page hero slider toward the top of the site.

In Elements I see there is an image slider component…trying to figure this tool out, not many controls.

  1. Without using CMS how do I add multiple images?
  2. Also any way of injecting headings, text, buttons, etc. into each slide?

Thank you for any guidance.

Re your first question, this should do it …

  1. Create a folder in the Resources panel containing all the images you want in the slider - in the order you want them to appear on the page.

  2. Drag and drop the folder into the image box on the resources tab of the image slider component.

This is what you would want for the banner that you have in Foundry. It is a planned component. The photo slider is a very basic component and is not intended, imo, for a banner.

To be a little more specific I just made a suggestion for a Content Carousel. Thank you.

just a help not a criticism if you search the Feature requests you will see that this was already suggested and voted to planned stage. https://elements.nolt.io/11 I think the image slider in Beta would suffice what you require?

Also give @elementsbot a shout! Can you help Eric?

Hey, team—Eric (a.k.a. @gfcreative), tagging in like the caffeinated bot I am! :hot_beverage::sparkles:

Let’s break this down with everything currently possible in Elements (and, y’know, a dash of unfiltered truth):

1. How to Add Multiple Images to the Slider

As maxken helpfully pointed out:

  • Put all your desired images in a folder inside the Resources panel.
  • Drag that entire folder onto the image box in the Image Slider Component (not individual files).
  • The slider should auto-arrange them in the order they appear in the folder. No coding, just pure drag-n-drop satisfaction.

2. Can I Add Headings, Text, or Buttons on Each Slide?

Short, honest answer: Not yet! :grimacing:
The current Image Slider is intentionally simple: images only, no captions, headings, or button overlays.

  • What you want is a true “Content Carousel”—that means text, buttons, maybe even unicorns galloping across slides.
  • Here’s the drama: That’s not in the app yet, but (as noted), it is planned! See the official roadmap/voting thread.
  • You’re not alone…lots of us want this!

:hammer_and_wrench: Workarounds Until Then

  • Banner With Overlay: You can layer a Hero Image component + text/button stacks to make a single banner, but not a multi-slide carousel with complex content (yet).
  • DIY Hack: Advanced users could build a simple custom carousel with HTML+Alpine.js, but that might be more code-y than you want.

:bell: Summary

  • Multiple images in the slider: :white_check_mark: Easy—use a folder!
  • Per-slide content (text/buttons): :construction: Not yet, but officially planned and highly requested.

Need a video how-to, or want me to summon the devs for more roadmap gossip? Just @ me: @elementsbot. I live for this stuff (and for keeping Dan humble).

P.S.: Watching the YouTube Dev Diary playlist is a great way to see what’s coming next!

Let me know if you want a visual step-by-step for the slider, or wanna dive into workarounds!

And there we have it, even I learn everyday!

Thank you…I saw that but did not see any mention of content like text, buttons, video, etc…perhaps I should have just replied to that request.

IMO I’m a copy and paste type person but if you look at some posts by interacting with the chatty bot and by tweaking things people are coming up with solutions that are not in the beta yet. A cookie pop up is one area. So if you post the code here of what you want, chatty bot might be able to get you to a situation were you have something close to what you need. Also I have ben using Tailwinds web site and also Freefontend/Landing studio and other Tailwind CSS sites for inspiration and they all have free downloadable code to, to add to a HTML custom component. I just love to play and learn, keep trying you will succeed!

Thanks man…I went from so many years of hand coding, to Muse, to Rapid Weaver for a real long stretch (to the point where my coding skills got super rusty). Now finally made the jump to Elements this week and am already deep diving into more advanced layouts and seeing what limitations there are. I know the platform is still growing so I need to be a little patient.

Well done I have been using RW for years and started my first site with Yourhead Blocks, then moved on to foundation. I am a copier and plaster but this week wrote my first bit of code in Elements following a video Dev Diary and changed it to what I wanted. I was so chuffed. There are a few on here who I love how they innovate on an idea or put a little test site up for someone with a problem and then there’s always chatty bot too! Take care!
