Warehousing/accessing media data in AWS S3

(Jürgen Schulze) #1

Hi all,

does anybody have experience in warehousing media data (such as pics, video, sound) in Amazon S3?
I’m somewhat lost with setting up the right bucket and accessing the files.
I’m also not quite clear if it is possible to set up a folder structure in a bucket where the galery-stack can create thumbnails from the files within the folder.
Any help highly welcome!
Thanks a lot

I use S3 to serve up free and paid media. “buckets” is simply what they call “directories” or “folders” - as to how you use the media you put on s3 it would be no different than if you had it on your own server. Just think of it as another directory to store files in, only this one is on s3 instead of your own server.
