I have 110 videos on my web site. Most of them come from YouTube and Vimeo. Considering that occasionally the odd video is pulled down from YouTube and this leaves a hole in my list of videos, would I be better off putting all the .mp4 versions of all my videos in a Videos Folder in the Resources folder on my site and referencing them as a URL.
If I do it this way, I never have to worry about those that are pulled down from YouTube in the future.
Is this the way to go?
David, what do you mean “via a link”?
David, if you had read all my post, you will realise that you answer to me is meaningless.
In case you didn’t get it in my post, what happens with your approach if the video has been pulled down. Forgive me if I don’t reply to any more of your posts.
Hi Paul,
I would recommend using a YouTube playlist, and every so often refreshing it in Elements to ensure it’s up to date, you then just do a republish. It’s slightly manual, but it’s a nice way of doing it.
btw. there is a slight bug with the YouTube thumbnail ratios, we’ll get that fixed in the next build.
Hope that is helpful.
Thanks Dan,
At the moment in the Classic version I check periodically to see what has been pulled down from YouTube. I will have to have a think about your suggestion. Always appreciate your insightful help.
