Hi
suddenly, with every upload, I get a couple of folders with the remark ‘rwc’ thrown into my project folder…
What is going wrong? What can I do to stop this?
Thank you very much
Hucky
Hi @hucky
Where are you storing this project? On your mac, on a cloud service or on an attached storage solution like a NAS?
.rwc files turning into folders is a compatibility thing with non-Apple storage devices and cloud services. macOS can make a folder appear like a file (a so-called ‘bundle’), which is what RapidWeaver uses to store projects. Since this is a fairly Mac-specific thing, other cloud provides than Apple and storage solutions made by third parties sometimes don’t understand these bundles, and show them as folders to your Mac.

Erwin
Hi @Erwin
thanks for your reply. This sounds complicated…
The project is stored on my Mac. I just added another page from where people can download files via Doobox-Download; I had this on before today. Those downloadable files are stored on my server. Other than that I didn’t have much change which could be the source of this problem, says me, the layman. I have been doing this before without any problem.
It is driving me nuts getting all this roc files which clutter the entire place.
Where could I stop this?
Cheers

Hi @hucky,
Before we can stop it, we need to first find out what’s going on.
Every time you publish, RapidWeaver saves your project file. Since the spooky folders appear when you publish, I reckon it’s actually the saving of the project that causes these folders.
Does it also happen when you manually save the project?
If you open the only real project file (the top one in your screenshot), does it contain the changes you made, or is it an old version from before your update?
Cheers,
Erwin
Hi @Erwin,
what does it mean to ‘manually save’ the project? I guess I always do that?
yes, the top project file does contain the changes. It all worked perfectly fine until I moved a few folders around in the project as well as on the server. Of course, I updated the relevant links after that.
Cheers

Hi @hucky
‘manually saving’ is clicking File > Save (or Command + S).
I’m not familiar with Doobox Download; could you make a screenshot of that stack’s settings and post it here?
Cheers,
Erwin
Hi @Erwin,
ok, got it. yes I manually saved.
Below, please find the very few settings which Doobox Download has.

Hi Erwin,
Good news: I dismantled the entire file and then put it together again and surprisingly all works fine now… wonder what the h… that was? Thank you for helping to find the trouble spot.
Cheers
Hucky
Hi @hucky,
No worries - always glad to help (although in this case, I wasn’t of much help)!
Cheers,
Erwin
