I see that your basic hosting plan is £12 or €12, or $12. $12 is currently worth about £9. Why is UK hosting so much more expensive?

I’ll start with the solution first, you can pay in whatever currency you want, we don’t force you to pay in £ if you’d prefer to pay in $. Feel free to switch the currency to whatever makes the best financial sense to you.

Now for the explanation.

Our pricing is standardized across each of the currencies we support, so our Starter plan is priced at £12, €12, or US$12, rather than being converted using the current daily exchange rate.

We intentionally don’t use dynamic currency pricing based on exchange rate fluctuations, as it would mean our prices would constantly change over time. Keeping fixed regional prices provides consistency for our customers and also allows us to forecast our revenue more accurately. It’s a fairly common approach for companies that sell internationally, as it avoids frequent price changes caused by currency movements.

While this does mean that the relative value between currencies isn’t always identical at any given moment, it provides a more predictable experience for both our customers and our business.
