After changing the port for Exact Hosting publishing all photos from all photo album pages are gone. They seem to still exist on the server. Classic 9.6.8 Pleass advise.
Thanks Dan, before I can do this I need to get my website in order. After changing the publishing port at the direction of Exact, all my photos disappeared after publishing. Tom Murray Art any ideas?
<div class="thumbnail-wrap" style="width: 185px; height: 185px; margin-bottom: 80px;">
<div class="thumbnail-frame" style="width:185px;">
<a href="files/page19-1000-full.jpg" rel="viewGallery" class="fancybox" title="The Scarlett Door 40x50 SOLD!"><img src="files/page19-1000-thumb.jpg" alt="The Scarlett Door 40x50 SOLDW.jpg" width="0" height="0"></a>
<p class="thumbnail-caption">The Scarlett Door 40x50 SOLD!</p>
</div>
</div>
Why is the width="0" height="0" in the <img> tag?
This looks to be a RapidWeaver Classic built-in Photo page. Try going in and setting the width and height on your images to something other than 0?
After that re-publish and let us know..
How does one do that?
Can you DM me your RWC project file? Will need to see how you have it set up.
I can except your message window won’t let me attach it.
Sorry just saw you posted about this here too.
From the screenshot it looks like the images aren’t linked up properly in the Photos page any longer, however it seems strange that changing the FTP port would have affected that…
Can you go in your Photos page and try to re-add those images and then re-publish?
Or do you have a project file backup that you can restore from where those images are still showing up normally on the Photo Album pages?
I added on image and it published.
I don’t really want to reconstitute 40 photo pages with captions though.
The photos seem to be still on the server.
I have a month old backup that seems to be functioning (Except for kicking out the logo every time I close RW) Classic site kicks out logo - #3 by dan
I’d go with that project file backup then if the photos are still showing up normally in the Photo Album pages.
Regarding the site logo, I think that can be fixed up. Can you re-add the logo in your resources, click on that logo drop-zone, click the Delete key on your keyboard, then try re-adding that logo image again to the drop-zone?
If you still have troubles you can email me the project file at support@realmacsoftware.com and I can take a look.
I do that every time I open RW. As long as I don’t close the app the logo stays.
Hrm strange, if you can send over the .svg logo you are working with, and the project file, I can see if I can replicate it here..
Since the most recent photos are still on the server, I am not wanting to upload an old file and overwrite. That would then require hours or days to bring back the site to its current state.
This setting is dangerous. I’d recommend switching over to Copy into the Document.
With it set to leave in place, RapidWeaver is having to pull the images from their relevant folder on your Mac every time you open the project file. If the image path changes, or if you lose permissions for RapidWeaver to access those folders, then poof, your images won’t appear in RapidWeaver.
I’d check in your System Settings >> Privacy & Security >> Files & Folders >> Make sure the RapidWeaver App has permission to access whatever folders all your images are located in.
When I did that, it cleared up the issue with the logo file disappearing every time I closed and opened the app…
That fixed the logo problem although:
- The privacy setting was already ok for RW
- I have never noticed that leave in place button before.
- My other two sites have it set on leave in place with no issues.
- My photos on the site are not in folders, copies are stored in the photos app along with 5000 other photos that are no longer on the site..
Does RapidWeaver Classic still have permissions to access your Photos app?
That would be in System Settings >> Privacy & Security >> Photos >> Make sure the RapidWeaver App has permission to access the Photos app.
I’d still switch it over to Copy Into Document, it’s safer even if it makes the project file bigger.
Yes I switched to Copy Into Document.
I turned on access to photos but it didn’t change anything.
In the olden times you could populate the photo album page from iPhoto.
But that went away with an update and I had to redo all my pages by manually by dragging in each photo. I still use Photos for storage but I don’t think RW has any connection to the app.
Try quitting both RapidWeaver and the Photos app completely and then re-opening them.
Other then that, I’d probably have to do a Zoom call to troubleshoot with you over a screen share..
Just to check, what happens if you revert the port to what it was before you changed it for Exact hosting? Do the images reappear? I’d be surprised if this did anything, but I’ve been surprised before.
No nothing.
