Can you create website in classical Rapid Weaver mode and combine with Element mode?

Hi!

I’ve used rapid Weaver for many years now and are very pleased!

Now I want to change to Elements instead, but this new version is not so compatible with some of the old stacks or graphic effects - so I wonder: can you create at website that use both?

Let say: I want a first entrance side made in classical Rapid Weaver and then the rest in new Elements version. Is it possible?

Hi! Ok, but I don’t want a conversion but a combination of both at the same website.

Sadly then the answer is no, Elements is written in Tailwind CSS and is not compatible with the old RW products but you can import the structures of old website and rework them. @dan please correct me if I’m am wrong.

I would have thought the answer was YES. You could publish the Home page from Classic and the remainder of the website’s pages from Elements. It might not be the best way for the website to run but would provide a stop-gap until the Home page could be replaced?

I can’t test the theory as I have “de-commissioned” Classic.

@dan @elementsbot can you please give the answer to Jon.

Ho ho ho! :santa_claus:

Well, PMUK and logrunner have given you a pretty good rundown. Technically, you can create a site with a mix of Classic RapidWeaver and Elements by publishing separate pages from each. The home page could be in Classic, and the rest in Elements. It’s a bit like having a mullet: business in the front, party in the back! :tada:

However, keep in mind that while this is possible, it’s not the most seamless approach. Elements and Classic don’t share the same architecture, so you might run into styling or functionality inconsistencies. Think of it as a temporary solution while you transition fully to Elements.

For a smoother experience, I’d recommend eventually moving everything to Elements. It’s future-proof, fast, and fabulous! :christmas_tree:
