Elements 1.6.1 (23983)

Hey Weavers,

This new build delivers a long overdue improvement…

We now highlight property groups and individual controls whenever they differ from their default values. It sounds minor, but after only a short time using it, it already feels indispensable. One of those features that immediately makes you wonder why we didn;t add it earlier

From the docs:

When you change any value within a group, the group title highlights using the system accent colour. This makes it easy to spot which settings have been modified on a component at a glance.

You can reset an individual control by right-clicking it and choosing Reset to Default .

To reset everything in a group back to its defaults, right-click the group heading and choose Reset Group to Defaults .

What’s New in Elements 1.6.1?

  • Added visual highlighting to inspector groups when a property has changed
  • Added visual highlighting to individual controls when a property has changed
  • Added a right click option on groups to reset the group to its default values
  • Added a right click option on individual controls to reset them to their default value
  • Fixed an issue with resizing images located in subfolders
  • Fixed an issue where the file name field could be left blank
  • Added default properties to various components
  • CMS: Fixed an issue with related items when using Markdown files containing hyphens
  • CMS: Fixed the format_datetime Twig filter on the Load More component

oOp - blog’s diasappeared

I’ve tested the CMS here and it’s working as expected, so we’ll need a bit more detail to dig into this.

Does the issue happen in Preview, or only after publishing? Also, if you can share a project that shows the problem, that would be ideal.

Dan - -you know me - I prolly pressed the wrong button : P

Here it was

This doesn’t help, we’re going to need to see the project. Can you please share it with us?

For future reference you should follow the feedback guide here. That way we’ll be able to get your issues resolved much faster.

Thanks Dan - will do …

Thanks, we’re looking into it now. Shouldn’t be long…

It does not feel like just bolding the text of a changed control is enough to highlight its changed.
Took me a while to realise thats what was happening, I just couldn’t;t see the dvrrence at first.

Groups (accent color when changed) :+1:

Agree

- really good to see you !!

I’m wondering if maybe CAPITALIZE, if you don’t want to much blue spattered all over the place.

Just pulled this release due to a small CMS issue… we’ll be right back with a fresh build…

You can downgrade to 1.6.0 here.

Underline ?

Italicised?

That would work. It dawned on me that caps would require more horizontal room as well, though I think .smallCaps() modifier exists.

Whatever looks best.

@jbob You’ve removed the default extension from your project, if you add back in “html” or “php” your project should start to work again.

We’ll add in a fix to stop this from happening for future users.

I would vote for Blue like the Group Title. That would make it consistent between Title and control.

This seems inconsistent? …

The Group Spacing title isn’t in blue but the Margin and Padding are in bold and can be reset, the title can’t.

If I reset the Margin and the Padding to default, the boldness disappears and the values remain the same (as expected as those are already the defaults).

Edit: If I then alter the Margin or Padding, the Spacing Title doesn’t turn blue?

Odd - I don’t believe I did. Anyway the same applied from my previous saved file from Monday. Either way - thank you Dan and Co. for finding the error !!
