Elements 3.0 Beta shipping next week

Hey Weavers,

Huge news! The first beta of RapidWeaver Elements 3.0 ships on Monday 13th July :tada:

The headline feature for this first beta is Tailwind 4 support! This has been one of the biggest upgrades we’ve ever undertaken, touching almost every part of the app, including the build system, Theme Studio, Themes, and Components.

Our testing has gone really well and everything appears to be working as expected. That said, because of the sheer scale of the changes under the hood, we’re releasing Elements 3 as a beta first so we can gather feedback before the final release.

Elements 3 also introduces new components, a huge collection of new features, countless fixes, and performance improvements. It’s shaping up to be our biggest release yet. Not everything will be available in the first beta though. We’ll be enabling more features over the coming beta builds, including the new AI Assistant.

Watch the video below for a preview of some of the features coming in the first beta.

Have a great weekend, and we’ll be back on Monday with more details and the first beta of Elements 3.0 :rocket:

Cheers,
Dan & Team Elements

What great news! I can’t wait to try it, you’ve really done a great job!

Thanks man, we’re really excited about all the new features that are going into this new version

Hi, Dan.

Congratulations.
Sorry to bother you.
I realize I must be prepared to swtich from the original RapidWeaver to RapidWeaver Elements.
And I am mildly daunted by the prospect.
Might you have a link somewhere that will help guide me through the process of adapting from RWC to RWE?
If so, I will be attempt to venture forth!

THANK YOU.
Best.

Happy days - great news !

Of corse, we’ve started to put together some documentation and videos, take a look at our Switching to Elements Guide! If you get stuck just post here on the forum, there’s plenty of people (including us) who can help you out!

Tailwind 4:heart:

It’s fantastic to have such exciting updates!

Awww, thanks, we really do try to keep shipping awesome stuff… and there’s lots more to come!

Otherwise check https://classic-to-elements.com and we can do this or help you with it.

Thank you, Dan.
Watched the video.
Impressed at speed of response demonstrated within the app.
Can’t bear seeing all the rounded corners.
Ruminating on it all.
Exploring two themes from MULTIHEMES.
Or may try to do a global build equivalent with RWE comparable to Elixir’s HIVE theme — backgrounds, extra content, etc.
Gonna be a good summer project por moi.
Thank you for your time.

Best,
Janis

The pace of development continues to be amazingly fast.

Anxious to see the polish that is being completed one the Core Elements side. Typography is the main weak spot.

CMS you already mentioned, just getting the CORE complete and stable I know will be a much welcome update.

AI is going to be fun. I hold my opinion on usefulness of in app versus personal subscription.

Overall a solid update feature wise coming!

Yay! Can’t wait for testing this out!

Great job!

Greetings,

Mike

Really like Radial Gradients!!!

Really excellent work!!!

Congratulations…. You’ve all done amazing work…

I’m sure you’ve gone through a lot of coffee :hot_beverage:

Looks great
I see me sitting in front of my computer on Monday clicking every minute on the „check for updates“ button

Sorry, this wasn’t part of the work for 3.0, but I’m keen to know what you think would be realistic for us to implement? what are some essential features you’d like to see for Typography?

So, file this under a request, not criticism.

The first time I saw it, I expected it to be more like a word processor, where I could keep typing, assign styles, drop in a photo with text wrapping around it, insert other elements in the middle of the text, and have everything flow naturally while staying anchored to the text.

I’m not sure the Typography component will ever do this. We might tackle this “feature” in the future, as we have a few ideas on how something like this could be done. Can’t say when this would happen (as we have a tonne of other things to finish off first), but it is on our radar!

Would vote for an “Article” Component, which would be what @Flash is asking for.

  • Text = single line, formatting done via Inspector
  • Typography (rename Paragraphs?) = multi-line, follows Theme setting
  • Article = multi-line, multi-component, follows Theme setting

Sure, something like this…
