Elements Hosting - New Updates

Hey Everybody,

Hot off the heels of the official Elements Store launching to third-party developers announcement here and here, I wanted to share some new updates for Elements Hosting.

No More Website Limits

Starting today, all plans now allow for unlimited websites to be hosted!

We are now only limiting each plan by disk space as you can see below:

Starter Plan = 10 GB NVMe SSD Storage

Freelancer Plan = 50 GB NVMe SSD Storage

Business Plan = 100 GB NVMe SSD Storage

For the Starter plan, you can host 1 primary website and an unlimited number of addon domain websites under that primary website.

For the Freelancer and Business plans, you can add unlimited websites that have their own separate space (the sites are separated from each other). You can even host your websites on different servers across our server fleet, all from the same plan! This means you can host one site in New York City, and another site in London, without having to sign up for multiple hosting plans. These plans are great for freelancers and agencies who are building websites and hosting them for their clients.

Feel free to create and host as many websites as you want on our new and improved hosting plans.

Five Global Server Locations :globe_showing_americas: :globe_showing_europe_africa:

We now have servers in the following locations:

:united_kingdom: London, UK

:united_states: New York City, US

:united_states: Chicago, US

:united_states: Los Angeles, US

:germany: Frankfurt, DE (Germany for non-german speakers :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

We’ll be adding new locations in the future as we grow, probably some more servers in the EU, and then on to the Asia-Pacific region as demand grows. Feel free to vote or drop your suggestions for new locations in our Locations post here. :slightly_smiling_face:

New Backup Option Coming Soon

Currently we offer daily account level backups that our customers can restore from. We keep 7 days of these backups on file.

While these backups are great for disaster recovery, they restore the entire hosting account. It’s not possible to do selective restorations. That’s about to change. :confetti_ball:

In the coming days we will be launching our new backup service which will allow for Incremental Backups and individual file/folder level restorations! :tada:

This means instead of restoring the entire hosting account, customers will be able to selectively choose what file or folder they’d like to restore. This will give our customers greater flexibility, similar to Time Machine backups on your Mac, where you can restore only the file/folder that you need. :maracas:

More details on this new Backups feature when it’s launched, so stay tuned. :eyes:

Conclusion

So three new exciting developments in the Elements Hosting world, 1) No more website limits, 2) Five global server locations, and 3) Enhanced backups coming soon.

We are happy to host our customers’ websites and provide out of this world customer support. Even though Elements Hosting is a “newish” service, we are onboarding new customers daily and they are loving it! :confetti_ball:

If you are looking for a new web hosting provider that knows both web hosting and RapidWeaver in and out and really cares about the customer experience, check out Elements Hosting and give us a try.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Elements Hosting

That’s all for this round of updates, stay tuned for new exciting updates just around the corner!

Thanks
Different Dan - Team Elements

Which server should German speakers use? :face_with_peeking_eye:

London, UK for sure

Is there a performance downside to this?

None that I have noticed.

I’m on the starter plan, and I have four large sites and two small ones, and they are super responsive, and the upload speeds are insane. I’m using just under 0.5GB storage for all of these sites

Hi @TomM

There wouldn’t be any performance downside from that setup. Most people who are using cPanel based hosting are already familiar with that kind of setup, as cPanel also has 1 primary domain (website) at the top, and then however many addon domains the web host allows underneath that primary domain (website).

If you have additional questions let me know.

Since the exact hosting server transfer debacle I have not been able to publish any website changes. What would be the process of transferring my domain and website hosting to Elements Hosting?

Hi @TomM

Sorry to hear that, but we can definitely get you sorted as we’ve already moved over a bunch of customers fleeing from the Exact hosting debacle. :slightly_smiling_face:

First you’d sign up for a hosting plan on our website here https://elementshosting.io/.

After that, we’d set up a free managed Cloudflare account for you as we use Cloudflare as our domain name and DNS provider. Once that’s all set up you’d want to log into your Chillidog/Exact Billing Portal >> Domains section and:

  1. Unlock the domain name so it can be transferred

  2. Request an EPP/AUTH transfer key as we will need that transfer key to start the transfer process.

  3. Order the domain name transfer. You can actually do this at the same time you are ordering your web hosting package per the below screenshot.

Let me know if you have any questions about anything else, happy to help.
