Globals problem or am I doing it wrongly?

I decided to have a play with Globals.
I first made individual Globals for each of the following parts without anything else on the page:

  1. Background Global
  2. Menu Global
  3. Banner Global
  4. Page GlobalHeading
  5. Article Global
  6. Video Global
  7. Footer Global

I then put my first page together using these Globals. All went well.
The result looks like what is in the attached movie.

However, when I began the second page, I thought I could then bring the Globals I wanted onto the page one by one as I did for the first page, but that does not happen. When I now bring the Background Global ONLY onto the second page, it brings with it all the other Globals as per the complete make up of Page 1.
Because all other Globals have to be inside the Background Global for the Background to work on the whole page, Elements now seems to think the Background Global is all the other Globals together.

Globals are very powerful and can do exactly what you need, here’s how I’d set things up:

Dan, I really appreciated your full video explanation. Many thanks.
I will go back now and implement it and see if it does all that I need.
Cheers.

Dan, Just an after thought. Is it possible to have the Globals ordered alphabetically/numerically, so that if I rename them with a numeric number in the lead, they would reorder according to the numbering. As it stands they are ordered according to their creation order.

Yes, that’s a good idea, and it just so happens we’re currently working on a feature that will allow you organise them, stay tuned for that!

Thanks Dan.
By the way, I had tried turning on Global Overide but I only did it for the Container in which I placed the Background Component, thinking that the Container was the one I Globalised. When I changed it to Overiding the Background Component all worked well.
Cheers, and thanks again.
