It’s worth noting that Elements already includes a powerful built-in Gallery component that’s suitable for the vast majority of sites and projects. The Pro Gallery add-on is designed more for professional photographers and designers who need advanced presentation options, so it’s intentionally a specialist tool rather than something everyone needs to purchase.
Unfortunately not as they are tied to your account (just like the App Store), but I’ll add it to our list of future considerations to build into the Store
How do you buy Gallery Pro? The links simply open my Elements application. I haven’t been able to find a link to the store.
How do you add a YouTube or Vimeo playlist to Gallery Pro?
I can understand your frustration to a certain extent… but what exactly is Realmac supposed to comment on here?
Personally, I also find the pricing for the Gallery Pro component to be very “pro.” It’s not on my shopping list either — and honestly, it probably wouldn’t be even if it were cheaper. That’s simply because I don’t currently have a real use case for it. The built-in gallery component already covers about three-quarters of what I need, which is absolutely sufficient for my purposes.
In the end, everyone has to decide for themselves whether it’s a good deal or not. You don’t have to buy every add-on just to support Realmac. If something isn’t relevant to you, skip it and pick up the next one that fits your needs. But questioning the entire product because of that doesn’t really make much sense.
Especially since the basic components in Elements now have enough substance to build solid, professional websites. And I’d even go so far as to say — maybe a bit boldly — that achieving the same thing with RapidWeaver Classic and Stacks would end up being significantly more expensive.
Take a look at the Video for the Video component about adding YouTube videos to Resources and also Playlists around 6-7 minutes in at Video | RapidWeaver Elements Docs This puts links to them in your Resources.
Once you have a folder of them in Resources you just drag the folder to the Media section of the Gallery Pro component.

The psychology of pricing is very interesting to me. When people see a price they say in their mind that is worth it that isn’t worth it. That’s what I expected. That isn’t what I expected. It’s a premium price. That’s a discounted price.
So much goes into pricing products. In the 1990s if you were to price something $14.95 or $19.95 it would have an over 80% approval rating from people they expected to see that price and psychologically found it appealing
Anyhow, to buy or not to buy is everyone’s individual choice 
I really want to support real Mac software, but in this case since I don’t do a lot of photography, I’m on the sidelines…
It would be good if you could configure Gallery Pro like a Global so that any changes you made to the configuration were reflected across all the uses of it. While you could duplicate it at the start that doesn’t help if you decide later that you want to change it.
Also without the thumbnails it would be nice to have some control over where the captions are placed as they seem to be tied to the bottom of the screen rather than just below the image.

Is it feasible to use the gallery as an ecommerce site selling digital downloads?
Can Pro Galleries be used in blog posts?
Just a passing comment on the previous discussions on price, if the Pro Gallery included the option to sell online I’d have already bought it. If it needs to be built separately — or would require further add-ons to do — I don’t see it representing value for me.
Great questions, but no, it doesn’t support PDFs and it isn’t intended for selling digital downloads. You’d be better off using a dedicated store solution, or building the UI yourself in Elements, depending on how many PDFs you plan to sell.
Gallery Pro is designed as a professional add-on for photographers, designers, and anyone who needs advanced control over large image collections and sub-galleries.

Good news, you can convert the Gallery into a Global!
Once it’s a Global, just unlink the media when you add a new instance to a page. You can then reuse it throughout your site and drop in new folders of images each time. This keeps everything consistent, and any styling changes you make to one gallery will automatically carry across the entire site. Globals are VERY powerful 
There is an option to place the captions under the image (so it’s not overlayed), but you have to use the Grid for this layout (not masonry). Let me know if you needed something different!
Does Gallery Pro support WEBP?
As a photographer, the option to sell online can be pretty necessary — even more-so than having pretty layouts (although they’re very welcome). At the moment I need to use things like Shootproof, PixiSet etc for large event or studio shoots.
It’s not the thumbnails where I want to move the caption, it’s the lightbox meta data. I upgraded to Pro because I didn’t want captions in the gallery but wanted them in the lightbox. If I have thumbnails in the gallery then the captions as pushed into the small gap between the lightbox and the thumbnails but if I turn off the thumbnails then the caption sink to the bottom of the page but I want them up against the image.
