Hi,
I’m trying to optimize my website a bit, as it needs to be somewhat performant.
Unfortunately, one annoying blocking event—a relatively long task that is systematically executed at launch—is the loading of https://myWebsite/path/rw_common/plugins/stacks/jquery-2.2.4.min.js?rwcache=758212585. To be honest, this bothers me a little.
I tried tracking down the stacks that might still use jQuery in 2025, but I haven’t managed to identify the culprit. I have two main suspects: Splider 2 and Cartloom. Would anyone know if they might be responsible? Or is it RapidWeaver itself that imports it?
Thank you for your time!
Oh, and if you have any hunting tips, I’m all ears!
New developments:
I found out it was Cartloom importing the jQuery. I have contacted them, I will wait for their response and see if I they share something that might interest future readers. I will come back when something “drops”.
Stay tuned for the next… I feel like I might be the only one caring anyway
Bye !

Hi, as promised, here are the latest updates!
I contacted the Cartloom team, and they confirmed that the latest version (Cartloom 5) no longer uses jQuery. If you still see jQuery on your website, it likely means there’s an old snippet or a RapidWeaver drag-and-drop block still running on version 4. Once you’ve hunted down and removed all of those, jQuery will no longer be imported.
So voilà, this should be the final answer to this question. I hope it helps someone in the future. Happy weaving!
