Super, that apfelpuree has set up a German-speaking forum.
But I’m still of the opinion, that here, in this forum, must be a German-speaking area (also other languages. We’re in Europe!).
That’s why, again @dan, please set up this here.
I agree with Oscar!! Please set up a Dutch speaking forum too.
(-;

Hi @apfelpuree. Now I’m switching to English as I was not aware that german language posts have been deleted. That is, indeed, not “very international”. @nikf, can’t you, as long as there is not seperate solution for non-english languages, advise the moderators to be more sensitive with their international peers?
For your convenience, I’ve used Babylon to translate the post from @apfelpuree:
“The solution with its own German-speaking Forum, we now have is in view of the limited technical effort to set up a separate driver speaking category is ridiculous. In particular is ridiculous and the handling of german users in the background - and I refer here in particular to the uncommented delete German contributions. Don’t get me wrong, I do not have a problem with that, a German-speaking Rapid Weaver-Forum on own account (from me yet I am also the Dutch and all other displaced persons). But rapid Weaver-Probleme belonged in the proprietary Forum - and as a not completely insignificant part of the German-speaking users with English as his effort has (partly understand the people did not speak english) is the only in the sense of customer orientation. The effort is low. But it seems as if you wanted to keep this beautiful Forum clean. Clean pollution from German (Dutch, French, Italian) contributions. It was previously also otherwise possible. (By the way, I don’t feel like, which now also have to translate into English. In English I have to write all the things to write) -Michael”
Thank you, I would have that, I miss it

I’m really disappointed of what realmac did with the old forum. With one click you eliminated the work of dozens of people who helped others gratuitously for years. You determined an important work of reference even for those who never were active forum participants. With one click you locked out those german speaking people who decided to buy a program and to work with it in spite of its reputation of being complicate and expensive if you’ll take full advantage of it. I know that this was discussed here in in the last months. I just wanted to add one aspect that was never pointed out here: If this behavior would become the standard in the world of internet, the amount of people who are working actively in forums like realmac has would decrease immensely in the future.
I am a „normal“ user, just building websites for my own business and as a german actor I have a lot to do with other colleges using Mac hardware. A couple of those colleges were impressed of the results I’ve done with rapid weaver. But at this moment even currently there is missing a german localization of your program I’m advising them against rapid weaver. Your behavior is a clear sign that there is no path between commercial software and the philosophy of open source. I regret my decision to invest time and a lot of money in rapid weaver, stacks and plugins. Wordpress might be more complicate or not that flexible, but the content of those who helped others in the past and will help in the future wouldn’t blow away with one thoughtless click.
We didn’t intend for the old forum to disappear so quickly, however we needed to make the move to the new system to ensure it wasn’t over-run with Spam. There were a couple of hiccups in the transition, but we think the new forum offers a much better way to discuss RapidWeaver.
RE: German localisation. It’s a huge undertaking, and would prevent us from working on any other features in RapidWeaver for a while.

But with the decision to close the old Forum (not only the German/International forums, the entire forum is meant) so fast, you have destroyed a lot of knowhow about your RapidWeaver, which has come together over the years.
Too bad, also for me.
I hoped, the old forum will stay open for at least one year.
I had not noticed till now.
All that content - gone!
Hmmm … disappointing.
Nick,
as a long time German customer of Rapidweaver I have followed the various discussions about localization, etc.
When version 6.0 was released I sent you a complete localized German version of Rapidweaver besides my offer to help with future localizations whenever you might run short on manpower. The localization took me not more than a couple of hours…
What I can see from the discussions here, especially for Germany, you have enough volunteers who are willing to support Realmac Software with foreign language forums and translations for Rapidweaver. What is the point of Realmac Software not to react to these offers or not to get in contact with these people and at least try to give a fabulous software an even broader international basis which will definitely lead to more satisfied customers and a bigger customer base for Realmac Software?
Please let us know what you think,
Kind Regard
Thomas
Translation is only one part of the puzzle. So to say “it took you a few hours” misses the point.

[/quote]We’re a team of 5. If you think we’re sitting here ignoring these offers for no reason, then you’re mistaken. When we’re at a place where we can get localisation going, we’ll be getting in touch.
Thanks,
—Nik

You’re right, Nick. I wanted to challenge you
I know that the software’s architectural design needs to support localization.
When we’re at a place where we can get localisation going, we’ll be getting in touch.
Thanks for that clear statement. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
