Pasting hyperlinks

In RapidWeaver Classic it is straightforward to paste a block of text containing weblinks into a text field so that the links and the layout are preserved. I’ve asked elementsbot if there’s a way of doing this in Elements but the answers it gave are not very helpful. Among other things it says this:

<Pasted hyperlinked text is often stripped. Workarounds: paste as Markdown, paste HTML into a Custom Component, or duplicate the original text component (duplication keeps links).>

And indeed pasted hyperlinked text is stripped. Is it envisaged that this will be fixed so that it will become possible to paste hyperlinked text and preserve the links? If not I don’t think there will be any practicable way for me to transfer my website guitarloot.org.uk from RapidWeaver Classic as it consists almost entirely of text with hundreds of weblinks.

Or am I missing something obvious?

Seriously, has no-one got anything to say about this? It seems to me that not being able to paste hyperlinks into a text field is a major drawback of Elements. Is there any chance this could be fixed?

I can now see this has been raised before:

And

With a reply from Dan saying:
“…the Text editor is SUPER basic right now, we have plans for it…”

So when is the Text Editor going to see an upgrade? This issue is preventing me transferring my two websites to Elements.

@dan

It is on our list to support, I’ll bump it up the priority list for you :+1: In the meantime, links can still be created by highlighting the text and selecting the link option.

Thanks; that would be really good. I’ve got another website that can be transferred (hopefully) without too much trouble but my guitar website has so many links added over the years that I couldn’t bear to have to redo them all.
