Publishing Seems to Have Gone South

I have been trying to publish a few of my sites, and now I’m always getting a failure when it gets 50 or 60 files uploaded. So far, I have three of my five sites that will not publish at all. One site had a couple of crashes, and then it was able to publish. Crash reports were filed.

UPDATE: Now, none of my sites will publish. Keeps trying to tell me there is a problem with the setup, but the connection to the server tests out with no problems. Up against the wall now as I can’t make any changes to any of the sites.

Ah, sorry to hear, but don’t panic, we have workaround.

We’re just working on 1.0.2 that includes further publishing enhancements, should be available soon. Any chance you could enable Upload Logging and send us the logs so we can ensure this is fixed?

In the meantime, here’s a download link to version 1.0 to get you back up and publishing.

P.S. you can always export locally and upload using a third-party ftp client if ever you get stuck in the future, not ideal but it is a good fallback plan for mission critical projects!

@handshaper - UPDATE! You will want to give the new 1.0.2 release a try first, as this fixes the publishing crashes you reported yesterday!

Let umes know how you get on :crossed_fingers:

@dan So far I have updated two of my sites without incident so happy to report that things appear to be back to normal. Thank you!

Phew, that is great news! Be sure to pick up 1.0.3 as it contains even more publishing improvements :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yes, that is the version I used to test the publishing. I have now successfully published all five sites without incident.

@dan with version 1.0.3 now i have problems with uploading. i never had these before …

Can you check if you’re out of disk space on your server? as that’s what the error message suggests.

If you do have disk space on the server, can you enable upload logging and send us the logs.

It might also be worth downloading v1.0 to check that the publishing still works there.

Let us know how you get on.

i’m very sure i have enough disk space and i’m back to v1.0

same problems with this version. now i have set the connections to 2-slow … and it stopped just before the 97% target this time

@dan

by setting the conncetions to 1-slowest the upload was now successful.

The last time I uploaded files was with version 0.9.8 and “Lightning Fast”.

Is there any way to go back to version 0.9.8 to do further testing?

in all these years i have never had any problems with this. for all my websites. i use the same hosting provider for rw-classic and rw-elements.

same project different error message during upload:

update:

i did some upload tests today. each time with the same project, the same URL and the same webhoster.

and i think the problem is uploading via ftp and sftp. the elements version 1.0 is a bit more stable and there are less connection timeouts during upload.

the upload via ftp always works for me when the connection is set to “1- very slow”. with elements in v1.0 in some tests also with “6- lighting fast”

I had no problems uploading via sftp in both versions

I have noticed the same thing when uploading with rw-classic and rw-elements.

i hope that helps. if you want i have some videos from the uploads and the connection timeouts during upload.

update update …

i have set “mode” in the puphlishing setup to active and now have no more problems with uploading via ftp. via sftp uploading it is not necessary for me because there are no problems.

the upload was successful several times in version 1.0 and 1.03 with this setting

Phew, glad you got it sorted :raising_hands:
