I’ve been publishing podcasts via Spotify and pushing them to Apple Podcasts.
Then I manually create individual shownotes on a page and publish on the podcast website.
Is there any way to pull the episode listings via RSS (or other) to automatically post them on the podcast website? There was an RSS stack mentioned a while back but I can’t seem to find it.
Also, btw, I’ve licensed Elements and will be transitioning two sites over (including this one) so if it’s easier on Elements, I can make the jump now!
Spotify can automatically generate an RSS feed for your podcast. If you subscribe to that feed, you can pull the listing through RSS quite easily.
Apple does not offer “real” RSS (but rather it’s own version of it), but there are third party services that convert Apple’s proprietary format to “true” RSS (such as openrss.org)
Once you have the RSS feed, the next step is to make something that creates content on your page based on the RSS feeds contents.
There used to be quite a few stacks that did this, but most of them rode into the sunset long ago. One that is still around, is Joe’s RSS Bundle ($20, Weaver’s Space), which includes a bunch of stacks that list RSS feeds in different ways.
Thanks @Heroic_Nonsense. I did find an RSS feed in Weaver’s Space that did the job.
I was able to pull the RSS feed from Spotify, but don’t seem to have much control over how it’s displayed. So, I set two pages, one for the last five episodes, and one for all episodes.
I also ended up changing themes to make the feed more legible.
