RapidWeaver Elements Pricing Update

This pricing change only applies to new subscribers after June 1st. If you’re already a customer by then, your current pricing won’t change :tada:

Almost a year ago we launched the first public beta with three simple plans: Base, Plus, and Pro. Since then, we’ve shipped weekly updates packed with major new features: including panels, filters, accordions, modals, advanced form controls, and so much more.

We’ve come a long way, and Elements has grown into an even more powerful, design-focused website builder for Mac.

To reflect this progress, we’re updating the pricing for our Base and Plus subscriptions. These plans still represent incredible value, giving you access to a professional-grade toolset for building fast, beautiful websites, with more features arriving every week.

Even now, we’re working on exciting updates like a Markdown-based CMS and ready-to-use Template sections.

Base pricing is increasing from $59 to $99, and Plus from $119 to $149. Pro licensing is staying the same at $249.

So if you’ve been thinking about joining Elements, now’s the time to lock in the current lower price.

This change takes effect June 1st and will only apply to new subscriptions after that date. Existing customers won’t be affected.

Thanks again for being part of the journey.

We’re just getting started.

— Team Elements

P.S. We’ve also increased the number of activations per license from 2 to 3 Macs :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Price increase on a product that isn’t yet publicly available/ out of beta, supposedly? Bold! :flexed_biceps:

@dan Is there an upgrade path for this who have already purchased a tier who may wish to move up as programme gets nearer public release?TIA

Courageous, minister!

Totally understand where you’re coming from, it’s a fair point.

While Elements is still technically in early access, it’s already powering real websites and getting weekly updates with new features and improvements. We’ve made huge progress over the last 8 months thanks to community feedback, and the app is now in a place where we feel the Base and Plus plans offer significantly more than they did at launch.

The price change reflects that growth, and it helps support the continued development, including some big features coming soon like a built-in Markdown CMS and template system.

We’re really grateful to everyone who’s supported us this far.

Of course, you can always email support@realmacsoftware.com and we’ll help get you moved over

Haha, appreciate the reference, we’ll take “courageous” as a compliment :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

But seriously, we believe Elements has come far enough that this adjustment reflects its true value and helps us keep investing in what’s coming next.

Wait, seriously:
you’re still in beta and already raise the prices? And an Elements Plus license will not allow me to build websites for clients and sell it to them? So you mean my current payment will be 249 € for Elements Pro - ANNUALLY?
Did you hire somebody from the ADOBE marketing gang?
I mean…are you serious presenting that to folks who kept your company alive since RW 3.1?
…and I’m gonna say it: in a time when a huge contender is about to launch an app that leverages the dominating RW plugin of all and probably the only page type ever having been used since then? “What’s in YOURHEAD?” (quoting the Cranberries…)

There are many other apps, including RW Classic that are much more user friendly. Many can build basic websites much faster. Now the pricing. This puts it squarely in the ultra elite category. However not even functionality is at this level.

For now, this is a solid no for me.

Thanks for sharing, we do appreciate how passionate you guys are, and we hear your frustration.

The price increase is only for new customers after June 1st, if you purchase before then you get the old pricing. And who knows… we might have officially launched by June 1st

We totally get that pricing is a sensitive topic, especially after years of loyalty, and especially with other tools on the horizon. That said, we’re not trying to compete by being the cheapest option. We’re focused on building a fast, modern, native macOS app with a clean experience, one that has everything you need built-in. It’s something we think is worth paying for, and worth doing right.

We’re still a small, independent team, and yes, many of you have supported us since the early RapidWeaver days. We’re deeply grateful for that. Elements is the next chapter, and we think it’s shaping up to be something rather special.

Hi Dan,

If a site is built with RW, how easy is it to convert the site to Elements?

Thanks Dan for increasing licensing to 3 Macs. That is great news and just what I needed!

@shortmatt Elements is a completely different platform from RW or RWC and you will have to start from scratch to build your site/s in Elements.
However, this will help you to work with different components and see what they can do. I am currently using RWC and Elelments. I am slowly upgrading all to Elements, but there is no rush. I start new projects in Elelments. Hope this helps.

When I checked the price for Elements Plus, it has already been raised now in May, not on June 1st. Or do you add VAT on 119 dollars?
I want to pay in dollars, not my local currency at a bad exchange rate.

Didn’t want to dilute my point, hence didn’t say then. I myself understand where you’re coming from.

Over the course of a year, I have seen Elements round up and mature well. In that light, I suppose you might have felt that the product pricing needed a revisit before releasing en masse.

I support this; but still, it is bold and a unique strategy that a product that isn’t technically out of beta is first being sold at all, and then shall see a price increase (for new users).

I understand where you’re coming from and as a matter of fact, I do need RW to stay proprietary and alive! One huge part of staying in business is pricing, and I’m sure this increase is not just a personal preference but a realignment with respect to what the product has gained over a year.

However, I do believe a one-time price for the whole shebang aka the Pro offering would be a good deal. For most, the annual pricing, despite giving value in its own way, is a tiresome proposition.

If you’re a current subscriber this pricing change doesn’t affect you.

Undertsand where you’re coming from, but Elements does everything competing apps do, and much more. We’ll soon be introducing Template sections, which will allow you to build sites faster than before.

Here’s a sneak peek at how quickly the new templates feature will let you build a website!

For the base plan of just $99 Elements includes all of the following:

  • 1GB of Cloud Storage
  • CSS Framework
  • Gallery
  • Advanced Forms (with Webhooks)
  • Animation
  • Image Slider
  • Templates
  • Accordions
  • Modals
  • Content Filters
  • Markdown Blog/CMS (coming soon)
  • Not to mention app features like; WYSIWYG editor, globals, node browser, custom components, code pages, responsive breakpoints, customisable workspaces, theme studio, the list goes on…

Elements is also still evolving at a rapid pace, and we’re adding new features almost weekly based on user feedback. We’re in this for the long haul and committed to making it better with every release.

That said, we completely respect that different tools suit different workflows, and we’re glad there’s choice out there.

Thanks as always for your honest input.

Are renewals for Base going to be $59 or $99.

Renewal will be the same for existing subscribers, so it’ll be just $59. One of the benefits of getting in early and supporting us, we appreciate it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

So you don’t need a Pro license to get web hooks now?

I am on a Pro License but don’t sell my services to build websites for customers. So I only really need a Plus license, if webhooks is now included. Can I downgrade at the next renewal to the current (pre-June 1st increase) Plus Subscription rate?

btw - I think Elements is good value (even at the new prices) when compared with the amount of money one had to spend for a Rapid Weaver / Stacks / Framework / sundry stacks setup. It is also a lot simpler. Having used Elements for quite a while, I just don’t like working with the old setup now. :slightly_smiling_face:

:face_with_raised_eyebrow: Pro is already more expensive than any non-RW mac based competition.
 Still no v1 release or public beta trial and prices are already going up.
 No discounted renewals for current customers, outlined above.
 Pretty sure most former RW peeps saw all this coming.
 Adobe execs are laughing and nodding somewhere.

Been waiting patiently for Element’s, but now …
