Shout out for Sitelok - password protection & membership software

@dave, Please can I use Sitelok single licence for subdomains of the same registered Domain name or website?
Thanks

If my memory is correct then using subdomains is no problem at all. But for official confirmation email the developer (Adrian) at Vibralogix. He will get back to you quickly with the ā€œdefinativeā€ answer.

@Apomus Sitelok can be used on subdomains of your domain with the same license as long as those subdomains are still part of your site (i.e. you don’t sell subdomains for use as separate sites). If you have any questions contact me directly anyway.

Thanks, @vibralogix. That wii be all for now till I purchase it.

Thanks @Mathew, @vibralogix has replied to my post and question.

Keep in mind @Apomus that Sitelok is not only a stellar product, but that Adrian offers customer service that is second to none. I have, on several occasions, required his advice for issues that were above my head. Without fail @vibralogix has assisted me quickly, cheerfully, and expertly. There are several Rw developers I hold in the highest regard - Adrian is one of them.

Cheers - Dave

Something else to say about SiteLok is that it is unbelievably quick and easy to install. When I set it up I thought something must have gone wrong because it happened instantaneously!

Really? Is this software that much good? Actually I am also using one membership software by ChamberDesk and it works quite well without any issues. It has also all the required features so i am very satisfied with it. I think i am gonna see if the Sitelock is good or not. Is there any free demo available for it?

Isabella - Do you work for ChamberDesk?

Well ChamberDesk, at a ā€œstarter levelā€ price of $258 per month, better be good! For the right customer it may even be the better option. But for most folks about $50 total versus starter-level pricing of $258 per month makes Sitelok a no-brainer decision.

Is SiteLok ā€˜that much good’ [sic]? Yes! I couldn’t believe how good it was and how easy to set up – not even any problems with permissions. And a second licence is only $19.95 (plus taxes). I haven’t come across anyone who has used this software who has anything but praise for it.

I’ve been looking at Sitelok and I have a few questions. I organize a yearly educational conference (ESL related) in Spokane, WA. It started out as a local conference (now in its 28th year) but it’s grown to about 430 attendees from all over the Northwest (ESL teachers, both K-12 and college level as well as program administrators, publishers, volunteers, etc.). I’ve used Rapidweaver with the site for about 10 years - spokaneesl.com.

People register via a submission form (formloom 3) and then are redirected to a page with a Paypal button for payment. It’s getting more difficult to track many of the payments because some folks use a credit card with a different name (such as a university dept. card or a card of a friend or family member). Could Sitelok help with this?

Another issue is that people submit proposals to present at the conference (via formloom 3). We typically have about 80-90 submissions and we accept about 2/3 of them. I would like a system in which an accepted presenter can manage his or her own submission (edits, changes, etc.) after the data is in the database. (See link HERE of submission form.)

The conference would not have a ā€œmembershipā€ feature, just registered attendee functionality. It would be cool if a registered attendee could manage his or her own registration (view/print invoice and receipt for example).

The state ESL association contracted me this year to set up Wild Apricot for them to use on their Wordpress site. This system will soon manage up to about 500 members and as well as help with registering for professional events throughout the year. The association pays $130/mo to Wild Apricot for the 2,000 contact level. For our local conference, we couldn’t do this plus the local conference is not a ā€œmembershipā€ event.

Wondering how Sitelok could help in these cases?

Hi @helpguy I’m quite positive that Sitelok could handle all of that with ease! And, for a one-time fee of around $50.00 instead of $1,560 per year. But, I’ve copied @vibralogix so that Adrian can weigh in with the details.

Sitelok recently handled a small city’s fall festival for me. We had hundreds of submissions - and there were dozen’s of different price points that a potential vendor might have to pay (commercial sales, food sales, non-profits, food trucks, with or without electricity, yes or no if they wanted to enter Best in Festival, etc., etc.). Adrian charged me a very fair (not enough, most likely!) amount to write the extra code necessary to automatically determine what a submitter would need to pay. After submitting, I allowed the vendors to log back in and update specific fields (e.g., update name, phone number, what type of booth they preferred, etc), but did not allow them to modify other fields that would affect how much they owed, if accepted. It worked FLAWLESSLY. I highly, highly recommend his product. Oh, and as @peterdanckwerts mentioned above - it is super easy to incorporate into a Rapidweaver project.

Hi @helpguy I did email a reply to your email on the 30th September so can you check you got that just in case. I think that Sitelok should be able to handle most of what you need but we need to look at the process properly really.

Not just the monthly fee - there’s a Ā£2,495 set up fee for ALL plans. Hideously expensive and certainly not for 99% of RW users

Blimey! I’ll stick with the wonderful SiteLok.

SiteLok has just been updated to version 5. The upgrade is free for anyone who bought v. 4 in the last 12 months. I was really impressed by how quick it was to install and I’m equally impressed with the upgrade process – so quick and so simple!

And, if you haven’t bought Sitelok within the past year, in my opinion, it’s well worth the $20.00 upgrade price. The look and feel of the control panel has entered the modern age - Adrian has done a terrific job with it. Slightly blurred screenshot below.

I purchased Sitelok last week and upgraded to V. 5 yesterday (I think). How can I tell what version is installed?
